South Jersey Progressive Democrats will consider endorsing candidates in the June primary. “We are accepting applications from candidates for Freeholder, County Surrogate, Congress (CD-1 and CD-2) as well as municipal offices.” stated Chris Emrich, Elections Director for SJPD. Candidates seeking endorsements should request an application by emailing SJPDelections@gmail.com before March 1st. “We hope to identify candidates who share our progressive values including a transparent, accountable and just government that works for all people. To that end we have established a process for candidates who may seek the endorsement of our organization.” said Katie Ingersoll, SJPD Vice President. South Jersey Progressive Democrats (SJPD) began as a grassroots organization in 2017 and grew to provide a well-organized county-wide challenge to the Democratic machine candidates in 2019. The SJPD has been successful in building progressive coalitions across New Jersey. By identifying candidates for endorsement, the group is continuing the work of restoring democracy to New Jersey. ### ![]()
