
GWENNE - A resident of Haddon Township since 1984, Gwenne is a retired RN and Certified Nurse Midwife. She is passionate about the environment and was instrumental in starting the award-winning Haddon Township Community Garden and still serves on the board. With many years of hard work, she has lead the successful Haddon Township Backyard Chicken Program through the creation of a three-year pilot as well as the current ordinance. She has served on the Haddon Township Environmental Commission as well as being Community Chair of Sustainable Haddon Township. Her pro bono work revolves around her therapy hens; she works predominately with the special needs population, especially children, having done 108 visits and events in 2018 and traveling over 2000 miles, lecturing nationally on the topic. She is also on the board of the Horticultural Society of South Jersey. She is running for Democratic County Committee because she is extremely committed to sustainability and doing all we can as individuals as well as a community to increase our efforts in this area, which she feels have been lacking.
RON - Upon graduating from Gloucester City High School, and being discharged from the U.S. Army Signal Corps, Ron Baile began a 33-year career at NJ Bell Telephone, later Verizon. He attended Camden County College and served as Post Commander of VFW Post 3620 in Gloucester City. His wife, Gwen, and he have been married for 48 years and have resided in Haddon Twp. since 1984. They have one adult son. Since his retirement, he has been an engineer with the Cape May Seashore Lines Railroad, holding a federally-certified conductor, engineer and Hazmat license. He is a member of New Jersey Operation Lifesaver, working under NJ DOT, teaching people about railroad crossing safety. He is also a member of the Philly Fixers Guild which goes into neighborhoods to repair things that no longer work, keeping things out of the waste stream and saving people money. Currently Vice President of the West Jersey Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society, he is also a member of several county historical societies and a docent at the Gloucester City Historical Society museum. He is running for Democratic County Committee to bring about transparency in government. He feels that people are entitled to know what they are paying for.
